Common questions

How do I get into a game?

Games are private. Either a friend invites you, or somebody hands you the six-character join code from their lobby and you tap Join with a code. There is no public matchmaking, and you will never be put at a table with a stranger.

Why did I lose my points?

A roll that scores nothing ends your turn and everything you had not banked goes with it — that is Farkle. The rules the app plays by are in the app itself, behind the book icon at the top of the table. The first roll of a turn is free if it scores nothing.

What is the quarter, and does the app take my money?

No money passes through this app at any point. A bust costs a quarter into the pot and the winner takes it, exactly as it works at a kitchen table — the app keeps the tally the way a notepad would. Settling up happens between you and the other person, in cash or in Venmo, never here. The app holds no funds, moves nothing, takes no fee, and cannot tell whether a payment ever happened, which is why a payment stays on the tab until the person receiving it confirms it arrived.

A table can also be set to keep no tab at all, in which case the quarters are only ever a score and nobody is asked to square up.

Somebody says they paid me and it is still on the tab

The tab only moves when the person who received the money confirms it. Open Money → Settle up and confirm the payment there. If it never arrived, decline it and the amount goes back on the tab.

I am not getting notifications

Check Settings → Notifications → Pass the Dice on your iPhone, and that you allowed notifications when the app first asked. Nothing about a game banners while you already have the app open.

How do I delete my account?

Tap your photo in the top right, scroll to the bottom of your profile, and choose Delete account. It removes your account, your profile and your photo. Games you finished stay in the other players' history with your seat left unnamed, because those games are their record too.

Privacy

What the app collects and who can see it is set out in the privacy policy. There are no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers in the app.

Requirements

iPhone running iOS 17 or later. An internet connection — games are played between people, so there is no offline mode.
